How to put GBA ROMS in your PSP

So many trials and errors before i succeed in putting gba rom games in my psp. And double the hardships to make it work. Lots of patience runs in through me, especially I only relied on other users who shared their expertise in the process.

It is impossible to think that we can play gba games with a competing console just like the PSP. But, hey! Nothing is impossible now. Kudos to the hackers and programmers!

So, here are my steps to make your PSP more fun with gba games. An advice: “Patience is a virtue.”

First, you have to prepare everything. I mean download the files. At least now, I will share to you the sites that made my life easier. You need an emulator, ROMS(GBA games you want)and the gba_bios.bin.

Download the emulator here. Try to look for the ROMS you wanted to install in your psp. There are many sites all over the net. I recommend this site, where the roms are free (and working).

Now, download a program called gba_bios.bin. Just google it.

Unzip the emulator and the ROMS. For now, just save it in your desktop so you will just copy/paste afterwards.

Then, turn on your PSP USB connection. Make sure it is connected in your computer. Then, in your desktop, where you saved the files, open the emulator folder (UO_gpsp-kai…), then look for the mso folder. You will see another folder, open it, then another one, until you find the gpsp folder. Copy and paste it in your PSP’s GAME folder in the memory stick. You can see the GAME folder when you open the PSP folder.

NOw, copy the gba ROMS file that you downloaded and unzipped earlier. Then paste it in the ROM folder. You can see the ROM folder by opening the GAME folder, then open gpsp folder, then open GBA folder. All of which are already pasted in your memory stick.

Then now, copy the gba_bios.bin and paste it inside the gpsp folder. Now, try playing it in your PSP. It should be working properly now.

Enjoy playing.

Survivor 17: Gabon

I can’t wait to watch the next season of Survivor! Survivor Season 17 will be held in the African nation of Gabon.

Gabon is located in the west central continent of Africa.

According to sources, the next season will start filming late this June and will be aired this September.

26K Girls wowed Howie Mandel

The 26K girls of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal wowed Howie Mandel, the host of America’s version of the hit game show Deal or No Deal.

“Wow! Wow! Wow! I gotta say wow! This is amazing!” exclaimed Mandel. He was surprised that the girls of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal have a small dance number after the introduction because the American counterparts don’t have this. He was impressed.

Deal or No Deal America is touring the world visiting different countries as part of its  “Around the World” special edition. The Philippines was chosen as one of its destination together with Estonia and South Africa. The American crew were here in the country a couple of weeks ago to shoot for the special international edition of the hit game show which started in the Netherlands in 2001.

Deal or No Deal is now seen in over 50 countries.

The Philippine leg was aired last May 5 in the US. According to Kris Aquino, host of the RP version, from an interview with The Buzz, Endemol has already gave ABS-CBN the rights to air the said part of the special international edition of Deal or No Deal sometime this June.

Hooray for ABS-CBN! Excellent job.

Free Movies on the net

There are a lot of websites where you can watch videos. But a full length movie and tv series? Yes. You can watch your favorite movies, past movies you haven’t watched yet, rated R movies, or even movies currently playing  at the cinemas, on the net. And its absolutely free.

I was trying to find other sites aside from youtube.com where I can watch a complete movie. Then I bump several sites offering free movies. Some are bluffs and some are a waste of time clicking. I am gald I can share some of my favorite sites. Remember, these are for free.

My favorite hang-out to watch a movie is on ineedpopcorn.com. I already watched movies like Juno, Superhero Movie, Invincible Ironman, Meet the Spartans and Saw IV. This site has a wide variety of movies to choose from. And ineedpopcorn.com is my favorite because it also offers free-to-watch tv series such as Desperate Housewives, Band of Brothers, Heroes, Lost, One Tree Hill and other tv pleasures. This site is also featuring Asian movies, drama series and anime today.

Another great site to watch free movies is davidmovie.com. I already watched movies here like Vantage Point, The Forbidden Kingdom and Jumper. Oh, and it has the currently released movie, Ironman.

I think these sites have copyright issues. I am not sure if this is a form of piracy but I think it is. That is why some of the movies I watched are taken from a video cam. That is crappy. The quality of some are poor so I can say it is still better if you watch on dvds. Not pirated, huh. It is best if you buy original copies. And it is more enjoyable watching it on the big screen especially high-adrenaline and digitally mastered movies.

Original or not, this is the power of the internet. Just love to enjoy it.

Survivor Philippines not in Philippine Territory

The local version of Survivor to be aired only on GMA 7 this August will be held outside the country. According to Paolo Bediones, the Filipino counterpart of Jeff Probst, said that the reality show will not be held in the territory of the Philippines. It is one of the regulations GMA 7 had to comply with Castaway Productions like with any other country franchises.

You better secure a passport, dude.

As part of the “Survivor thrill”, the castways are being isolated and sent to territories away from people. So where could it be?

There are no leaks yet. Hearsays telling that a beach somewhere in Camarines Sur is the location. Is it true? I am not sure. It may be publicized to mislead us. At this point, there is no certainty yet. All we have to do is to wait… and guess.

If I am not mistaken, the French version of Survivor, Koh-lanta, is currently filming in Gota Beach. The beach is located in the northeastern part of Caramoan, Camarines Sur.

So the rumor is absolutely false. It is unoriginal if this will also be the location of the first season of Survivor Philippines.

If it is outside the country, GMA 7 only shows that they have the budget to be this ambitious with this project. Franchising Survivor cost a lot. Adding to its costs are the location (overseas?), manpower and ehem, prizes. In addition to Survivor, GMA 7 also got the “Idol” franchise which is now airing. That only means Philippine TV has improved a lot.

As of now, only hearsays about the location and other details of the Philippine version of Survivor are circulating. It may be true.

Survivor versus Fear Factor on Philippine TV?

It is a battle of reality tv here in the Philippines. GMA 7 has its Survivor Philippines and ABS-CBN coerced it with Fear Factor.

Yes, ABS-CBN got the franchise from Endemol Netherlands which also owned the phenomenal Big Brother franchise. Fear Factor is a game show that dares the guts and fears of each contestants competing for $50,000, that is in US. This is the reality show where contestants eat bugs, ALIVE and do unbelievable stunts that test strength, will-power and endurance of the contestants.

I heard Ryan Agoncillo will be hosting the show as ABS-CBN dropped him for Billy Joe Crawford as the host of the singing reality show, Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2.

I am just bothered about the Philippine version of Fear Factor. I remember years back that a politician protested a segment of a show with the same format, where contestants must eat worms and other disgusting stuffs. There is also MTRCB to regularly checks its content.

I hope Fear Factor Philippines will be as wild or even wilder as its other versions. What reality show will emerge as phenomenal, Survivor or Fear Factor? All we have to do is to wait.

What I Miss about Highschool

When my friend asked me about the most memorable years of my life, highschool is one of them.  I miss my highschool. Every bit of it. I can still remember the excitement to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to come early to school for the flag ceremony. I can even smell the morning dews of the city while walking to school carrying my blue Adidas backpack full of books, notebooks and pens that I missed to put in my school locker. The guard who always remind me to wear my I.D. and the corridors of the school towards the classroom.

I still remember the lyrics of my alma mater hymn that we made fun all the time. We do change the lyrics and make fool out of it because we are forced to sing it. And now, I miss singing it with my buddies and classmates. How ironic!

It is crappy that I reminisce the happenings in my highschool. Yet it is funny to look back on our immaturities, the latest fad back then, crushes, our firsts and of course the barkada I have. I have listed here what I miss during those years that I cannot forget. Today, I find it cheesy and embarrasing in a way. But it ’s still funny to think that I became corny at some point. Well, its life. Probably, you can also relate to it.

1. Signing autographs. I cannot remember how many times I signed autograpg books during those times. I experienced signing after the other. That’s crap. I only wrote there MTM, which means MANY TO MENTION.

2. TITANIC. Yes, the movie Titanic. It is the only movie I watched 5 times in the cinema. And man, I even watched it on SRO. It runs for months.

3. Nokia 5110 and 3210. These cellphones are big time. Mind you. And text messaging was a craze. No autoload back then so prepaid cards are golds.

4. It Might Be You. “Time, I’ve been passing time, watching trains go by, all of my life” are the most famous lines. I think I’m ready to puke. It is so cheesy. But i admit, it became my song to a girl. Its coming (PUKE)

5. Pimple Breakout. All the redness, ugliness, oiliness, dirtiness are in my face. That sucks. I tried all the medications my mother could find. Self-esteem? Very low. Its killing me. At last they’re history for me.

6. POrn! Porn! Porn! The very first time I watched an x-rated movie . It was supposed to be stimulating but hell no. That’s not what happened. I’m with my barkada. So it is a riot. And we all just laugh. I think the title of the movie was “Tarzan X”. Lolz. We shared cds of porn too.

7. First girlfriend. How can I forget my first ex? I didn’t even courted her. At least we were happy for five days.

8. Tambay at Inuman Sessions. Ginpomelo was famous back the so it was our favorite. We even tried drinking lambanog - bubblegum flavor.

9. JS PROM. How can you forget the JS Prom. The only night I can say that my classmates are pretty. Hahaha. Peace. I remember, I danced all night. I was never tired. It was the first time I wore a coat. So handsome.

10. Barkadang Malupit. We fourteen in the group. But we were never complete during gimicks, outings and parties. I wonder why. It was nice to feel that I belong to a group. And they are my my best buddies until today. Cheers guys.

No matter what happened to me in highschool, lows and highs, it was one of the best years of my life. If were given a chance to go back on those days, I will. And I will be wilder and smarter. I miss highschool. I wonder what happened to my classmates. Or how they looked like today.

Chocolate Hills and Subterranean River Park

I thought that the Tubbataha reef is the sole nominee of the Philippines in the “New Seven Natural Wonders of Nature“. There are other two nominees.

Another nominee is Bohol’s Chocolate Hills. It is reminiscent on my part to come across with this tourist spot again from my HEKASI subject during my grade school years. And I thought it exists only on books now and  already faced destruction today. But hey, chocolate hills are still standing and nominated as one of the wonders of nature.

Meanwhile, there is another entry from the Philippines. It is the Puerto Princesa Subterranean RIver National Park. I am not familiar with this one. I am thrilled.

Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world’s longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water’s edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave. - New Seven Wonders of Nature

It is needless to say how rich our country in terms of beauty and prestige in nature. Tubbataha Reef ranks eigth. Chocolate HIlls is in the ninth spot while the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is 33rd. And only seven will make it. So fellow Pinoys, please vote our own.

To vote, please click “The New Seven Wonders of Nature“.

Pasay not at the Fort

As I wrote from my previous post, the first Hooters bar and restaurant here in the Philippines will be opened at the Fort. But it is a mistake. Sorry, guys. I will not believe on hearsays anymore.

Hooters bar and Restaurant is now open in Pasay city. It is located at HK Sun PLaza along Macapagal Avenue. One thing I am sure of, I will dine there this weekend. Bon apetit!
